Mobile. I come to you

Face painting for parties in Slough and Reading

Piya Designs offers mobile face painting for children's parties, school fetes and family events across Slough and Reading. I travel to you, I use skin-safe cosmetic-grade paints, and the hourly rate is published on this page, so you know the cost before you enquire rather than after.

What it costs

Face painting is booked by the hour. That is the honest way to price it: a party is a set length, and paying by the hour means I can give every child a proper design instead of rushing to hit a per head count.

Face painting prices
Booking Detail Price from
Party face painting, per hour Minimum 1.5 hours £45
Per face, for fetes and fun days Charged per child rather than by the hour £5

Tell me the date, how long the party runs and roughly how many children, and you will get a real figure back, not a "prices on enquiry".

Skin-safe, not craft paint

I use Fusion Body Art, cosmetic-grade paint made for use on skin. It is not the same thing as the craft or poster paint sold for projects, which is not meant for faces. The same care I take with what touches a bride's skin, I take with what goes on a child's face. If your child has sensitive skin or a known allergy, say so when you book.

Hygiene matters at a party too: clean water, and sponges and brushes kept clean between children, so nothing passes from one face to the next.

What I paint, and for which events

Birthday parties, school fetes, church and community fun days, christenings, and family days at work. The usual favourites are butterflies, tigers, superheroes, spiders and unicorns, plus simpler arm and hand designs for the youngest ones. Tell me the theme and I will match it.

Questions people actually ask

How much do face painters charge?

My face painting starts at £45 per hour, with a minimum of 1.5 hours. You see the rate here before you enquire, which is more than most face painters will tell you upfront.

How many children can you paint in an hour?

As a rough guide, a busy party runs at roughly ten to fifteen faces an hour for quick designs, and fewer if every child wants a full-face tiger or a superhero mask. That is why face painting is booked by the hour rather than per child: it lets me give each face proper attention instead of rushing a queue. Tell me how many children and how long the party is, and I will tell you what fits.

Is your face paint safe for children?

Yes. I use Fusion Body Art, which is cosmetic-grade, skin-safe paint made for faces, not craft or poster paint.

Do you paint toddlers, or is there an age limit?

Toddlers are welcome, with a gentler approach: smaller designs, on the arm or the back of the hand if a wriggly little one does not want a brush near their face. Very young children sometimes prefer a design on their hand to keep, and that is completely fine.

How do I get the face paint off afterwards?

Warm water and a mild soap, or a baby wipe for a quick job. Cosmetic-grade paint lifts off easily and does not stain skin the way henna does. If anything is stubborn, a little more soap and a gentle flannel will do it, no scrubbing.

Can you do face painting and henna at the same party?

Yes, and it is a popular combination for a mixed-age party: face painting for the children, henna for the older guests. Book both together and I bring everything in one visit. Party henna is here.
